On Thursday, October 10, Danfoss received the Transatlantic Company of the Year award at the annual gala of the American Chamber of Commerce. The award will be presented by Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov in recognition of Danfoss’ investments and long-standing efforts in the U.S. market.
With 7,000 employees and 30 sites across 20 cities, Danfoss was celebrated as this year’s Transatlantic Company of the Year at the American Chamber of Commerce’s 25th Anniversary Gala with their Majesties the King and Queen of Denmark.
An independent jury selected Danfoss in recognition of the company’s growth in the U.S., its significant investments in the country, and its innovative solutions, creating good-paying jobs, reducing energy costs, and helping lower CO2 emissions.
Chairman Emeritus Jørgen Mads Clausen accepted the award on behalf of Danfoss at the official gala held at Moltkes Palæ (Count Moltke’s Mansion) in Copenhagen.
“It’s a true honor to stand here tonight on behalf of Danfoss and receive AmCham’s 2024 Transatlantic Company of the Year award, especially at a time when our work in America has never felt more important, and the business environment has never been better,” said Jørgen Mads Clausen at the gala dinner. “This award belongs to our 7,000 incredible, high-performing colleagues across North America. They are the reason we are the Transatlantic Company of the Year.”
Over the past five years, Danfoss invested significantly in projects across the U.S., most recently with the opening of a new factory in Tallahassee, Florida, where Danfoss expanded its capacity to produce oil-free, magnetic bearing compressors for chillers and data centers.
The selection jury, which included Jørgen Bardenfleth, Bjarne Corydon, and Sanna Suvanto-Harsaae, praised Danfoss for its achievements. Jury spokesperson Jørgen Bardenfleth remarked: “The U.S. is Danfoss’ largest market, and their trajectory over the past five years has been remarkable. Their focus on sustainability and innovation, paired with strong U.S. investments, is a blueprint for success.”
“This award highlights the importance of the U.S. market for Danish companies. It inspires and showcases examples of excellence for others to follow. Congratulations to Danfoss! With their innovative technology and solutions, and their growth and investment in the U.S., they are truly a worthy recipient of this award,” said Stephen Brugger, AmCham Executive Director.
