Danfoss highlights energy-efficient SWRO solutions at this year’s Membrane Technology Conference including the new APP pump with ceramic
About 300 million people in 150 countries relied wholly or partly on seawater desalination for their drinking water. Desalination thus plays a critical role in giving millions of people access to clean drinking water. Yet, desalination is a highly energy-intensive process. Which is why Danfoss is committed to finding innovative, energy-efficient solutions for desalination, and seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) in particular.
At this year’s Membrane Technology Conference, Danfoss experts will present some of our latest innovations for small to large SWRO plants. They’ll also explain how desalination systems using our high-pressure pumps, drives and energy-recovery devices can create energy savings of up to 65% when compared to desalination plants with centrifugal pumps and without energy-recovery devices and drives.
Meet the all-new ceramic APP pump
Launched late last year, the high-pressure APP pump with ceramic combines simplified maintenance with market-leading energy efficiency. It requires less pre-filtration and offers longer service intervals. The new pump features crucial wear parts fortified by ceramics and other surface-hardening technologies. This makes the pump ideal for SWRO facilities as well as industrial wastewater treatment plants.
See the MPE 70: our game-changing energy recovery device
Conference attendees will also see the world’s first active energy recovery device (ERD) for medium and large SWRO plants, the MPE 70. The MPE 70 integrates a low-voltage motor with an isobaric pressure exchanger to enable unprecedented rotation control for greater energy efficiency, smarter automation and maintenance, and lower CAPEX and OPEX.
Learn how high-pressure pumps are making desalination more energy efficient
During the conference, Georg Herborg, Head of Innovation at Danfoss High Pressure Pumps, will present on the theme, “High pressure pumps for maximum energy efficiency in desalination”. Join his presentation to hear how Danfoss is pushing for even greater efficiency, while designing pumps and energy recovery devices. He’ll highlight specific examples of how Danfoss is using advanced materials to create more reliable and robust pumps that are easy to maintain.
Let’s talk about how we can improve your SWRO plant’s efficiency
Our sales staff will be on hand to demonstrate our high-pressure pumps, energy recovery devices and monitoring solutions. And if you have any concrete challenges you would like to discuss, they’d be happy to help.
