New compressor ideal for heat recovery, process heating and district heating applications
Heat pump adoption in the industrial market is challenging due to the need for high-temperature heat sources in the production process. The Danfoss PSG compressor is ideal for high temperature industrial heat pumps, enabling the move to electrification and transition from fossil fuels to sustainable heating.
An innovative scroll compressor, the PSG can support heat recovery, process heating and district heating applications that require a high temperature heat source up to 100 degrees Celsius. By providing industries such as food and beverage production with an option for electric heating that meets their production needs, the PSG can decrease reliance on oil and gas and provide a pathway to decarbonization. Industrial facilities can replace their fossil fuel-powered boilers with optimized systems built with the PSG.
The PSG compressor is currently available in two capacities (105 m³/h and 140 m³/h), which can be manifolded together to achieve an even wider range of capacities. It is designed for use with low GWP refrigerants R1234ze and R600a, further supporting industrial customers in their decarbonization goals.

“The PSG compressor fills an important need in the transition to electric heating,” said Nick Mislak, regional segment marketing director for HVAC at Danfoss Climate Solutions. “Providing a viable option for industrial facilities to adopt heat pumps and reduce or eliminate their reliance on fossil fuels is essential to reaching our climate goals. The PSG is another example of how Danfoss is supporting the transition to sustainable heating through innovative technologies.”
