Self-limiting cables

Self-limiting heating cables are designed with a temperature-dependent resistant element between two parallel copper bus wires. When the bus wires are connected to the mains, a current goes through the temperature-dependent resistant element which will then heat. As the element is heated, the resistance value rises causing the current to decline and heating is reduced. This explains the self-limiting effect.

DEVIiceguard™ / ECiceguard

The DEVIiceguard™ / ECiceguard is ready-made self-limiting parallel heating cable that is used for melting ice and snow on roofs, gutters, and downpipes (UV-resistant). The heating cable is flexible and easy to install as it can be cut to length at site and installed directly on to the roof and gutter system.

DEVIpipeguard™ / ECpipeguard

The DEVIpipeguard™ / ECpipeguard is a self-limiting heating cable that is mainly used for frost protection of pipes. The cable will maintain its functionality even when shortened. The outer sheath is highly resistant to harsh environmental conditions and corrosion and it also serves as a protection against mechanical influences. The cables are not approved for use in drinking water.

DEVIpipeheat™ V2/ ECpipeheat 10 V2

The DEVIpipeheat™ V2/ ECpipeheat 10 V2 is a self-limiting heating cable that is mainly used for frost protection of pipes. The self-limiting capability of the cable ensures that the output of the cable increases or decreases according to ambient temperature. The heating cables can be installed outside water pipes.

The DEVIpipeheat™ V3 is a self-limiting heating cable approved for drinking water use and inside pipe installation in certified countries. The self-limiting capability of the cable ensures that the output increases or decreases according to ambient temperature.

DEVIpipeguard™ LSZH

The DEVIpipeguard™ LSZH is a halogen-free self-limiting heating cable with improved quality and enhanced technical characteristics. It is covered by a product warranty of 10 years.

EH Plugin for AutoCAD

The Plugin supports your engineering and design journey by making your work faster due to simple functionalities in calculating all lengths, dimensions and product data of cables and mats. It covers all applications within Electric Heating projects: Electric floor heating, Ice & Snow melting systems, Pipe tracing, Cold stores, Sport fields, Vineyards etc.
By utilizing Plugin, you will reduce design time for the project, provide all necessary information for installers in HTML/PDF format: BoM, resistance value check list, warranty list format. It means all project information can be consolidated in one file.

Plugin can be used with AutoCAD 2021.

Warranty

At Danfoss, it is important for us to deliver high-quality products with long-lasting effects. Should you, against all expectations, experience a problem with your product, Danfoss offers a warranty for electric heating products valid from the date of purchase that was no later than 2 years from production date.

Depending on the product, the product guarantee is valid for two years, five years, or twenty years.
