The Danfoss radiator thermostat Danfoss Eco™ is outstanding and award winning: As part of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018, Danfoss has succeeded in winning over the 24-member jury.
Over several days, the experts examined, discussed and evaluated more than 8,600 international communication design works. They awarded the coveted Red Dot for the high design quality and creative achievement of the Danfoss Eco™.
“Advanced smart-heating systems have typically been an extensive investment directed towards controlling the entire household – a niche product for tech-enthusiasts. Instead, The Danfoss Eco™ with Bluetooth and App is targeting the mainstream consumers. To create an attractive solution for them, simplicity in installation and daily use were mandatory along with an attractive price. Therefore, the Danfoss Eco™ thermostat with Bluetooth and App - despite its advanced technology and features - looks familiar and straightforward,” commented Morten Bjerg Kofod, Business Development Manager.
“Danfoss is committed to ”Engineering Tomorrow” in all aspects – meaning utilizing the latest and most advanced technologies. To bring this into people’s lives in a respectful way where the design makes a difference, it is critical that we understand how to design the best usability for all global users and match the high demands to the aesthetics of modern architecture. This is a strong part of our Danfoss DNA. The Red Dot is a great achievement which shows why investments in quality design last longer and make a positive difference,” said Kenth Kaerhoeg, Head of Group Communication, Danfoss.
Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award commented: “For more than 60 years, we have been providing designers, agencies, and companies with a platform for evaluating good design. Those who participate in the Red Dot Award must be aware that our jury members demand very high standards of the entries. This becomes apparent in the intensive debates and discussions that take place in order for all of the experts to agree on a well-founded decision. All those who progress through the tough adjudication process to garner a Red Dot have every reason to be proud of themselves, as the jury grants our award only to creations of high design quality. This makes me all the more delighted to congratulate the laureates sincerely on their well-deserved success.”
Danfoss is looking forward to receiving its well-earned certificate at the award ceremony for the Red Dot Award on October 26, 2018 at the ewerk in Berlin. Danfoss Eco™ is designed by Danfoss in collaboration with design-people APS.
