Sensor Calibration
Calibration certificate
Can I ask for the calibration certificate?
The sensor calibration certificate is normally included in the installation pack.
If you lose this certificate, you can request it from your sales representative by providing:
Code number, Serial Number and Manufactured date printed on the sensor head.
Calibration period
How often does the sensor need to be re-calibrated?
When the DGS is provided, the sensor is already calibrated from the factory side.
The sensor has then to be re-calibrated depending on the gas used in the application.
Following the period recorded in the sensor head:
- 60 months for CO2 infrared sensor
- 12 months for HFC semiconductor sensor
- 6 months for Propane pellistor sensor
Sensor recalibration
When the calibration period expires, may I then re-calibrate the sensor?
Yes, when the calibration expires there are 2 possible options:
- Replace the sensor head
- Re-calibrate the sensor. This operation resets the calibration period counter recorded in the sensor head.

Sensor life span
Life expectancy
What is the life expectancy for the sensor?
Typical sensor lifespan:
- Infrared (CO2) – 5-7 years
- Electrochemical (NH3) – 2-3 years
- Semiconductor (refrigerants) – 5-7 years
Propane sensor
Certification
Is the DGS for propane sensor ATEX approved?
No, the DGS for propane can only be used in a non-ATEX zone.
